An expansion module for the PXW-FS7 provides support for multiple cameras, including support for encoding with Apple ProRes 422.
The PXW-FS7 XDCAM camera comes with XAVC and MPEG-2 internal recording on XQD media. In addition, the optional extension module XDCA-FS7 can be attached. The connection of the box is very uncomplicated and without cables via a MultiPin port. The expansion module provides additional inputs and outputs such as timecode and Genlock for use with multiple cameras and allows the use of common V-mount batteries. In addition, the device enables users to record via the FS-RAW interface in 12-bit RAW with the AXS-R5 (in combination with the HXR-IFR5) or another manufacturer's RAW recorder. The XDCA-FS7 encodes the video stream using the Apple ProRes 422 codec and then records it on the XQD internal media.
Recordings with Apple ProRes 422
An integrated encoding feature for Full HD ProRes allows you to record ProRes format files on an XQD card in the camera.
