Two media slots, "Simul" or "Relay" recording and independent recording control
The PXW-X70 is equipped with two memory card slots. The camcorder is compatible with the Memory Stick PRO Duo (Mark 2), Memory Stick PRO-HG Duo and Memory Stick XC-HG Duo media as well as SDXC and SDHC cards. Thanks to two media slots, the camcorder can record in either "Simul" or "Relay" mode. The "Simul" mode allows simultaneous recording on two memory cards, while the "Relay" mode automatically switches from the first to the second memory card when the first one is full. In "Simul" mode, the user can set the two start / stop buttons on the PXW-X70, one on the handle and the other on the camcorder body, to start / stop recording independently on different memory cards.
ND filter control mechanism
The PXW-X70 has a variable ND filter function that lets you select four conventional mechanical ND filter positions from 1/4 ND, 1/16 to 1/64 ND.
ZEISS Vario-Sonnar T * lens
The PXW-X70 is equipped with a ZEISS Vario-Sonnar T * Fix lens with a 29 mm wide-angle view, which is suitable for large landscape shots and convinces with a 12x optical zoom.
Clear Image Zoom
The 12x optical zoom can be doubled with clear-field zoom to 24x zoom power. Thanks to the super-resolution technology, the entire resolution is retained here. A Digital Extender can double this to 48x zoom power. Super Resolution technology is an intelligent Sony interpolation system that analyzes the input image and enhances the resolution of the image.

Slow & Quick Motion function

Multi-interface accessory shoe (MI accessory shoe) for flexible connection without XLR cable
The MI shoe * on the PXW-X70 allows you to mount the included handle to start / stop recording, zoom and audio control. With the MI accessory shoe connection and the optional SMAD-P3 adapter, audio signals from the UWP-D11 or UWP-D12 wireless microphone systems can be routed from the wireless microphone receiver to the PXW-X70 without the XLR cable. The receiver can be powered by the PXW-X70 and a battery is not required to operate the receiver.
* It is not recommended to use the HVL-LBPC lamp with the MI shoe because the battery requirements are too high. When the handle is attached to the MI shoe, it is not possible to use the MI shoe to control the DWZ-D receiver.
