The Volkswagen Transporter Type 2 T3 was the third and final generation to be designated as Type 2 by VW. However, the colloquial term T3, which was originally an internal designation, became common. Unlike its predecessors, the T1 and T2, which were partly based on the Beetle and even the Kübelwagen, the T3 was a new design and the last with an air-cooled rear engine and rear-wheel drive. The T3 was launched in May 1979 and produced until 1992, although the successor model T4 with a front engine and front-wheel drive was already introduced in 1990. It was 60 cm longer, 10 cm taller, and 12.5 cm wider than its predecessors, and the wheelbase was extended by 60 cm, resulting in significantly more cargo space. The loading edge was lowered to 40 cm. The T3 was very robustly built but prone to corrosion, especially joint corrosion. Model with 123 printed block parts and movable elements. Model dimensions (LxWxH): 13.5 x 6 x 5.5 cm
