Sony expands its portfolio with the handy XDCAM HD422 PMW-100. The versatile camcorder with 1 / 2.9 '' - Exmor CMOS sensor fits in seamlessly with the XDCAM workflow and provides users with maximum flexibility in the choice of memory.
In the age of digital imaging journalists and videographers are increasingly using mobile devices such as mobile phones, cameras and consumer camcorder for reporting. Compared to professional shoulder camcorders but there is still a considerable difference in the image quality. The cut and data management are much more laborious in consumer devices. The PMW-100 combines the best of both worlds and records MPEG HD422 video on full broadcast quality, but it's not bigger than a compact hand camcorder.
Thanks to a newly developed 1 / 2.9 '' - Exmor CMOS sensor, the camera achieves excellent image performance and a minimum illumination of 0.08 lux The 5,4-54mm zoom lens (35mm equivalent: 40-400mm) of the PMW. 100 also ensures that users can work in virtually any production environment, are in demand in the mobility and flexibility.
"The PMW-100 combines outstanding image quality with mobility and relies on the proven XDCAM workflow. With this camera professional users to be more productive than ever. The development of the PMW-100 is the next natural step in the evolution of XDCAM series and is a direct response to the needs of many of our customers. The PMW-100 uses the popular MPEG HD422 Long GOP compression technology and supports MXF recording and playback of full HD video at 1080i, 1080p and 720p at up to 50 Mb / s. In addition, the camera between MPEG HD420 35 / 25Mb / s and 25 Mb DVCAM / s is switchable. The PMW-100 uncompressed 24-bit 4-channel audio recording at 48 kHz.
Since it can be used as an emergency media with a series of recording media, such as the high-speed SxS memory cards, Memory Stick and SD card as well as the new XQD card, it gives users maximum flexibility in the choice of memory. The new software "SxS Memory Card Management Utility" (from May 10, 2012 by download) provides additional features for SxS memory cards such as data backup and display of life.
With the 3.5 '' - WVGA color LCD display (resolution: 852 x 480 pixels), the focus and view recorded images made ??extremely comfortable. With the Slow & Quick Motion function allows users to create artful slow and fast motion effects from one image to 60 fps in 720p mode and from one image to 30 fps in 1080p mode.
The camera also has an HD / SD-SDI output, Composite out, a genlock input, a time code input / output, i.LINK-a (HDV / DV) -on- / output and an A / V output.
