This sintered activated carbon block filter focuses on chemical-physical removal as well as simple mechanical particle retention of undesirable ingredients in drinking water. No bacteriological barrier by finest filter pores is aimed at, because large water quantities are to be worked with in a short time.

The filter cartridge must be replaced after 6 months (according to DIN 1988). In principle, 10,000 liters of water may be filtered within the 6 months. However, an earlier change may be necessary if the water flow is noticeably reduced. An early change is not a defect of the filter used, but an indication of increased occurrence of fine particles in the unfiltered water.
