The PXW-FS5 is a mixture of the PXW-FS7 and the NEX-FS700 and is aimed specifically at the "grab & shoot" market. Especially for corporate, events, weddings, fashion, drones, rigs, Steadicam, online video. Due to the missing XDCAM codec, the camera is not suitable for ENG / broadcast. We recommend the PXW-FS7.

What makes the PXW-FS5 so special?

Ergonomics:
The weight of the camera is very low at 0.8kg (body). The center of gravity is very close to the grip (good balance).
The rotatable handle with direct access to the menu and preselection buttons allows one-handed operation and the camera can be brought into any handheld camera position very quickly. (As with the PMW-EX1 or currently the PMW-300)
The LCD can be set to almost any conceivable position.
Of course, the well-known accessories for the arm extension can be attached. Such as the Shape handle extension.


S35mm sensor
The sensor of the PXW-FS5 is the same as that of its larger siblings, the PXW-FS7, PXW-FS7K and PMW-F5

S16mm Center Scan Mode. Smaller area (S16mm area) of the sensor is read out. Results in a larger DoF and you can use S16mm lenses without vignetting.

Optics mount
The PXW-FS5 has an E-mount like the PXW-FS7. This means that a wide range of different lenses can be attached using the standard adapters.


ND filter
The PXW-FS7 has both mechanical and variable ND filters. The mechanical ND filters are for situations where the incidence of light remains practically constant. With the variable ND filters, the incidence of light can be infinitely adjusted, e.g. when accompanying the bride and groom from inside the church to the outside.
