The Fibaro Universal Dimmer 2 allows the retrofitting of a standard electrical installation to a Z-Wave based system for switching and dimming. The device is placed in a wall socket directly behind the switch. The switch is now no longer locally made by the consumer when needed, but provides a control signal to the Fibaro device, which in turn is remotely controlled by the consumer. However, the control can still be done via the existing switch. The module works with every switch series and every design, as long as there is enough space in the installation box.

Fibaro is an intelligent building automation system made up of miniature modules that can be installed virtually anywhere in your home and are also compatible with any electrical system. However, the Fibaro devices are not permanently linked to the building infrastructure, so you can easily remove the modules from the wall and put them in another location when redesigning your home. Through the mesh network, the modules update their location after re-installation, resuming cooperation with the rest of the system components.
