Z-Wave Fibaro Smoke Sensor Z-Wave, smoke detector with visual and audible alarm - Sensor sensitivity adjustable in 3 levels
- Protection against sabotage
- Can be connected to any alarm system
- Power supply via battery or external
- Automatic bump test performed every 5 seconds
- Integrated "black box"
Almost all smoke sensors available on the market have only one goal in mind? the discovery of potential threats. The appearance, however, is irrelevant. Of course, a smoke sensor is primarily intended to save lives. However, like most other sensors, it is a device in visible locations, such as the ceiling. For this reason, this smoke detector is a mixture of uncompromising safety, functionality and aesthetics. It is a visually appealing protection device for your house and your family.
ventilation Grill
At first glance, this shiny grille seems to be a real gem and yet it is equally one of the most important components of the device. Its perforation allows the smoke to penetrate into the sensor chamber. The better this can be done, the smaller amounts of smoke are needed to detect a hazard and trigger the alarm. The sensor grid is made of a high quality material with a large number of holes. Each one of them has been electrochemically shaped to direct the incoming smoke directly into the sensor chamber. Due to the rapid fire detection, the FIBARO smoke sensor offers high protection makes its contribution to mitigation.
Not just a smoke sensorA sensor? many possibilities
The sensor is equipped for all application scenarios, from power supply to compatibility with various alarm systems, to wired or wireless communication. The result is a sensor that you can install anywhere, wherever you need it. If desired, the sensor can be connected to a 12V or 24V DC adapter. Or you can simply use the battery operation mode and enjoy up to 3 years of uninterrupted continuous operation. In addition, the sensor can be integrated into almost every wire alarm system available on the market. Furthermore, if thick walls prevent wireless communication, you can also connect the FIBARO smoke sensor to an alarm control panel.
Safety in the event of fireSensitivity calibration
The degree of sensitivity of the FIBARO smoke sensor can be adapted to the respective local conditions. Depending on where you install the device, different levels of sensitivity are required. In the kitchen, roasting meat could trigger an alarm if the sensor is too sensitive. Therefore, at this point the sensitivity should be minimized to avoid irritating false alarms. In contrast, the sensor should be maximized in other rooms where smoke is unlikely under normal conditions to ensure the best protection.
Protection against manipulation
The FIBARO smoke sensor has a built-in anti-tamper function. Any acts of sabotage or attempted eviction will be recorded and reported to the resident. A smoke sensor is an extremely important part of the security system of your home, which therefore does not allow manipulation. Any sabotage attempt, such as disconnection from the power supply, will result in an immediate reaction.
Z-Wave transmitter tester
A built-in RGB LED signal diode is used to signal the Z-Wave network area. The prerequisite for a functioning FIBARO Smart Home System is correct communication with the Home Center 2 controller. The sensor can be connected to an alarm center or communicate wirelessly with the Z-Wave network. Even if the Z-Wave network is not sufficient for direct communication with the Home Center 2, any device within the system can return a radio signal, allowing you to install a FIBARO system component even in the farthest corner of your home.
Integrated tester
Proper communication ensures the safety of your home. The battery-powered smoke sensor not only monitors the Z-Wave transmit range, but also informs the system controller for regular self-tests of its own ability to detect threats. It's a very efficient process that runs automatically every 5 seconds, allowing the system to monitor sensor readiness. However, the test can be triggered manually as well. All you have to do is hold down the button in the center of the sensor housing and wait for the signal light.
Black Box?
The so-called "black box"? The smoke detector graphically displays smoke and temperature level information. Regardless of whether the alarm is armed or not, the sensor continuously monitors the smoke level and sends the information to the central office. Now you are able to detect even the smallest amount of cigarette smoke. It is also possible to constantly monitor them via mobile devices or the website home.fibaro.com.
Automatic software update
This high-tech smoke sensor enables a fully automatic software update. Once an update is available that offers new functionality or improved device operation, the sensor will automatically suggest downloading and installing it on its own. The Home Center 2 keeps the software of your smoke sensor always up to date and thus gives you maximum security.
