Variety: Wasabi mustard
How is Wasabi mustard used? The leaves can be added raw to salads to give them a spicy flavor and a crunchy note. They are excellent for adding more texture and flavor to salads. They can also be used as a side dish or garnish for various dishes. Their spicy flavor adds depth to dishes like soups, stews, or stir-fries.
Due to their spiciness, the leaves are also used as an alternative to traditional wasabi in sushi and spring rolls. The leaves can be incorporated directly into the rolls or served as a side.
Our tips for successfully growing your Wasabi mustard
The harvest of the wasabi leaves can begin when the plants have reached a sufficient size. Young leaves are often more tender and have a milder flavor.
Use clean scissors to cut the leaves close to the base of the plant to encourage new growth. It is important not to remove more than one-third of the leaves at once. This allows the plant to continue growing and producing new leaves. Avoid cutting too close to the center of the rosette to ensure continuous growth.
