PoE

8 ports on the TL-SG1016PE support the "Power over Ethernet Plus" (PoE+) standard, enabling it to automatically detect and power IEEE802.3af/at compatible devices. This is done over the Ethernet cable, so you do not need a power outlet at the location of the "Powered Device" (e.g., access point, IP camera, or IP phone).

Overload Protection

The TL-SG1016PE features a priority circuit that protects the system from overload. If the total PoE power is exceeded, the active ports with the lowest priority will always be shut down.

Port Priority

Port 1 has the highest priority, while Port 8 has the lowest (Port 1 > Port 2 > Port 3 > Port 4 > Port 5 > Port 6 > Port 7 > Port 8). For example, if Ports 1, 2, 3, and 5 each consume 30W (which is the maximum per port), the total system power will be 120W (the PoE Max LED lights up green when all PoE devices require 110W or more). If a powered device with 20W is connected to Port 4, the system will shut down Port 5. Ports 1, 2, and 3 will continue to be powered.
