The LanMaster 35 is the ideal and versatile tool for all IT administrators or system technicians who need to install and maintain VoIP devices and WLAN access points.
In heterogeneous networks, Voice over IP (VoIP) phones and Wireless Access Points are often powered via Power over Ethernet. There are many different standards, which can make interoperability challenging. The LanMaster 35 tests whether a link and the associated power supply function properly.
When connected to the outlet, this easy-to-use handheld device quickly and reliably checks if a 10/100/1000 MBit/s Ethernet link exists and what duplex mode is set. Additionally, the LanMaster 35 measures whether Power over Ethernet (PoE) is present at the corresponding port. The device recognizes not only the voltage type "Mid-Span", "End-Span", or "All-Span", but also which PoE standard is being used, such as IEEE 802.3af, Cisco Standard, or a proprietary standard. During this measurement, the port is tested under load, thus displaying functionality and settings.
For network testing, the LanMaster 35 can easily measure the cable length of a cabling run or a cable reel. Furthermore, the LanMaster 35 identifies which port of the switch is connected to the tested outlet by sending a link signal to the switch and causing the port LED to blink.
