All Profoto softboxes feature a recessed front for attaching a honeycomb grid. The honeycomb grid reduces the beam angle to 50°. In other words, it creates a more focused light and minimizes excessive spill light. This allows you to direct the light even more precisely.

By limiting the spread of light, a honeycomb grid helps to create more contrast in the images, resulting in a more dramatic and atmospheric look. Reducing unwanted spill light is especially useful when you want to avoid illuminating the background or surrounding areas.
