Hundreds of years after the battle for the red earth of Earth Prime, humans have colonized the blue planet. The Outers - people who were exposed to the unique energy source Femto and now possess special abilities - have grown tired of their mistreatment by humanity on this new and dangerous planet. They took control of the Gardens, orbital defense satellites, from where they rule over the planet below with military might as the Sovereign Axiom. While humans on the planet's surface fight for survival against the elements and a race of organic-mechanical creatures known as Immortals, a resistance organization called The Reclaimers has formed to challenge the brutal rule of the Axiom.
