IMS "MATRIX®" Shower Screen The IMS MATRIX® shower screen is an innovative shower screen featuring 50 layers of micropores (microspheres) made from AISI316L stainless steel. These form tens of thousands of channels with a mesh size of only 4–5 micrometers. This ensures a homogeneous water distribution over the coffee grounds. The fine porosity causes a pressure drop just before the water hits the coffee grounds. The internal pressure in the fine-pored plate causes the release of nanobubbles from water vapor and CO2, resulting in a more stable crema. The filtering effect also reduces the backflow of coffee particles and protects the brew group. The result is a stabilized, longer-lasting crema.
