The new XF wide-angle zoom delivers excellent and sharp images across the entire zoom range, high-resolution from the center of the image to the edges. The XF8-16mm is ideally suited for landscape and architectural photography, for indoor shots in restaurants and hotels, as well as for night photography and astrophotography.
The FUJINON XF8-16mmF2.8 R LM WR can fully utilize the capabilities of the FUJIFILM X-Trans CMOS sensor and achieves outstanding sharpness, even when the aperture is wide open.
The lens is lightweight yet very robust. It is resistant to dust, moisture, and low temperatures down to minus 10 degrees Celsius. This makes it extremely reliable even in adverse external conditions.
To enable an ultra-wide-angle zoom of 8-16 mm (12-24 mm equivalent to full-frame) at a constant aperture of F2.8, this lens uses 20 elements in 13 groups. This includes 4 aspherical lenses to control distortion and spherical aberration, as well as three ED lenses and three Super ED lenses to reduce chromatic aberration. Through this construction, the lens achieves excellent image resolution across the entire zoom range at a constant aperture of F2.8.
To correct for field curvature typically found in ultra-wide-angle lenses, the XF8-16mm features a correction element, ensuring high sharpness across the entire image.
The rear side of the two front lens elements is coated with a Nano-GI coating to avoid ghosting and light reflections caused by oblique light.
The FUJINON XF8-16mm uses linear motors to enable fast autofocus. The motors also operate very quietly.
The XF8-16mm is sealed at 11 points against splashes and dust. Additionally, it is cold-resistant down to a temperature of minus ten degrees. This makes it easy to use even in bad weather or challenging climatic conditions.
The fluorine coating on the front lens element is water-repellent, less prone to dirt, and can be easily cleaned.
