The tabletop series from the blomus design team not only has typical Japanese shapes that reflect the minimalist design language of the everyday objects in the blomus range. It also has a fascinating - but very traditional Japanese - reactive glaze. This effect glaze develops differently with each firing and reacts to the slightest changes in oxygen in the kiln atmosphere. Nevertheless, the earthenware items are dishwasher and microwave safe. This semi-matt glaze can have inclusions and imperfections, it can get scratches as it is a very soft surface - but this is not a defect, it is just part of this sophisticated manufacturing process. Hence the name Kumi, which is derived from the Japanese word for eternal beauty.
