The blomus design team's tabletop series not only has typical Japanese shapes that reflect the minimalist design language of everyday objects in the blomus range. It also has a fascinating - but very traditional Japanese - reactive glaze. This effect glaze develops differently with each firing and reacts&#10to the slightest changes in oxygen in the kiln atmosphere. Nevertheless, the stoneware items are dishwasher and microwave safe. This semi-matte glaze may have inclusions and imperfections, it may get scratches as it is a very soft surface - nevertheless, this is not a detriment, but just a part of this refined manufacturing process. Hence the name Kumi, derived from the Japanese word for eternal beauty.
