The P1 motion sensor detects body movements and the state of the ambient light. If people move or the state of the ambient light changes in the detected areas, the motion sensor sends a notification to the Aqara Home app via the connected Aqara Zigbee 3.0 Hub or connects to other devices.

- Configurable Detection Timeout: The detection timeout can be configured without hardware modification. Simply set any amount of time from 1 to 200 seconds, confirm by pressing the device button, and the P1 will no longer get stuck for a minute as before. (Please note: Reducing the detection timeout will result in a shorter battery life)

- 5 year battery life*: Thanks to energy-saving technologies and improved batteries, the P1 motion sensor can now achieve a record-breaking five-year battery life, making it last even in particularly low temperatures or lightning-fast detection timeouts.

- Comprehensive compatibility: Compatible with the most popular smart home ecosystems. HomeKit, Alexa, IFTTT and more are supported. Matter support will be available as an OTA update for Aqara hubs after the official release of the specification.

- Adjustable sensitivity (distance): The user can adjust how sensitive the sensor should be. Three sensitivity modes (high, medium and low) relate to the distance from which the sensor is triggered, which can help reduce false alarms and make installation more flexible.

- Built-in light sensor: The light sensor built into the P1 can be used to control the lighting more precisely. For example, turn on the lights only when it is dark and motion is detected to save energy and extend the life of the lamps.

- Smart home automations: The motion sensor is a natural part of most smart home automations: Configure the IF conditions as well as the THEN actions, and many routine tasks such as turning on the lights, opening the curtains or controlling the TV will be automated**.
