After a magical catastrophe caused by ambitious wizards, the world of Talamh lay in ruins, and the common folk viewed all magic with suspicion. The Sun King Azra exploited the resulting panic to enslave wizards with the help of his Scarlet Order, appointing loyal princes to rule over the conquered realms.

As Azra's forces continue to conquer more land, the high sorceress Uchawi and a small group of rebels rise from the shadows to oppose his absolute power with their forbidden magic and to overthrow his tyrannical regime.
