The tabletop series from the blomus design team not only features typical Japanese shapes that reflect the minimalist design language of everyday objects in the blomus range, but it also boasts a fascinating - yet very traditional Japanese - reactive glaze. This effect glaze develops differently with each firing and reacts to the slightest changes in the oxygen levels of the oven atmosphere. Nevertheless, the stoneware items are dishwasher and microwave safe. This semi-matte glaze may exhibit inclusions and imperfections, and it can get scratches, as it has a very soft surface - yet this is not damage, but rather a part of this refined manufacturing process. Hence the name Kumi, derived from the Japanese word for eternal beauty.
