• Fluid Clinch Control: UFC 4 uses Real Player Motion (RPM) technology in the clinch, creating a fluid fighting experience based on positioning and physicality. This technology embeds the clinch into the striking system, making the transition between clinch and release more frequent and seamless.
  
• Revamped takedowns: In UFC 4, RPM technology is also used in the takedown mechanics. Thanks to a variety of new takedown animations, players will experience a wider range of possible outcomes determined by your own skills and those of the fighters. Power carries as well as clean sprawls or the new driving takedowns (where you have to actively press or defend while attempting a takedown) show that superior wrestling will decide the fights in these moments.
  
• Brutal Ground-and-Pound: Some of the best in the UFC are known for inflicting significant damage on their opponents, especially on the ground. Ground-and-pound has also been reworked in UFC 4. Now you have even more control in upright positions. As an attacker, you can now target specific areas even more precisely, but even as a defender you can decisively steer the action through actions such as head movements and well-timed counter-position changes.
  
• New Submission System: The revised system introduces a completely new experience in the submission phase. Depending on your position, one of two mini-games will be triggered, which should give you a simplified experience. Also, you'll get the possibility to attack during a submission. Furthermore, you'll be able to change positions even better during a submission to advance the finish, or get out of a predicament with powerful slams.
  
• Grappling Assistance: The newly introduced and even more intuitive control system allows for more control and understanding of ground fighting. With simple left stick inputs, you can attempt to stand up, execute a submission, or get into a better position for a brutal ground-and-pound.
  
• Dynamic Striking Inputs: Revamped controls allow for more accurate striking while offering a variety of possible combinations. Thanks to the new mechanics, you can choose to just briefly tap the buttons for quick attacks or hold them down for stronger but slower attacks.
  
• Decisive moments: everyone who enters the Octagon is eager to finish the fight as soon as possible. In UFC 4, you'll see, hear, and feel the impact of the all-important punch ... or watch stunning replays of the devastating knockout that sent your opponents to the ground.
  
• New Commentary Team: Former UFC Middleweight and Heavyweight Champion Daniel "DC" Cormier sits alongside veteran UFC commentator Jon Anik in UFC 4. Together, they provide a new and invigorating commentary experience that is at once entertaining, informative and in the thick of the action.
