Passionato means passionate. We think that fits perfectly with this exquisite blend, which combines the three fiery countries of Peru, Colombia and Brazil. Enjoy its rich, smoky aroma when you are ready for this feast for the senses. A hint of tobacco and almond will remind you of exotic places. Slight acidity, a medium body and a short finish complete this intense coffee experience. If you like things by halves, you're in the wrong place with PASSIONATO. Here it's all or nothing.
Tropical Mountains PASSIONATO Lungo coffee capsules: Community Coffee
We use organic green coffee from Peru, Colombia and Brazil for PASSIONATO. We support coffee farmers from our network and our community by purchasing their gourmet organic coffee for PASSIONATO directly and without intermediaries. The coffee farmers we work with therefore have a good and fair income.
Compostable capsule alternatives for the Nespresso system
The coffee capsules we use conserve natural resources. This is why both the capsules and their packaging are made from purely natural materials. As aluminum is deliberately avoided, the capsules and packaging are completely biodegradable. Read here how you can gently dispose of or compost the packaging.
Zero Waste
We consistently pursue the idea of zero waste. The 21 capsule containers can be refilled again and again. The refill bag, which is available in two different sizes, is used for this purpose. The used bags can be used in a variety of ways or returned to us for reuse.
The story of fair trade organic coffee from Tropical Mountains
Tropical Mountains began in 2012 as a small farm 12 hours' drive from Lima, Peru. Peruvian Gisella Iriarte and Swiss Thomas Schwegler dreamed of organic and fair trade coffee - traceable from the bean in the tropical highlands to the fragrant cup at home.
Meanwhile, gourmet coffees from around the world have been added to our range, complementing the coffees from our family farm. They expand our ability to offer fair trade and certified organic coffees.
Respect makes the taste
And as Tropical Mountains evolves, we remain true to our roots: organic farming, direct fair trade and sustainable packaging. We are a member of the World Fair Trade Organization (WFTO), support local schools and fund charitable projects. Because we believe that respect makes excellent coffee taste good. Respect for our employees, for the coffee plant and for nature as a whole. That's why we also offset the CO2 emissions from our value chain. Our family is growing - our values remain.
