The GigaSystem 17/8 is designed for the construction of a distribution system, with which the signals of up to four satellite positions can be distributed to up to eight participants.
basic unit
The basic unit 17/8 G has a total of 17 entrances. 16 of them are satellite IF inputs that can pick up the signal strings from up to four Quattro LNBs. Each Quattro LNB has four outputs, each of which has a specific frequency range depending on the plane of polarization (a so-called "satellite block"). For each of these signal strings an input is available at the multi-switch. A maximum of 16 inputs can be assigned with satellite signals. The seventeenth input, on the other hand, serves to feed in terrestrial antenna signals.
The input signals are - as with all high-quality multiswitches - processed clearly separated from each other and amplified with a so-called skew. The amplification is greater, the higher the frequency of the signal. This compensates for the greater attenuation of higher frequencies in the cable.
power supply
The basic unit has a high-quality, efficient switch-mode power supply, which can supply not only the basic unit itself, but also up to four cascades and all connected LNBs with voltage.
expandability
With suitable components, the GigaSystem 17/8 can be further expanded so that even large networks with up to several hundred subscribers can be realized.
