High Definition Video Walkman Sony GV-HD700 : Sony presents the HD Video Walkman, a professional solution for mobile playback of HDV and DV tapes. The Sony GV-HD700 Video Walkman plays videos in brilliant quality on a 7-inch LC display and uses the HDV1080i and DV (SP/LP) formats. Numerous connections, including i.LINK and HDMI output, ensure simple plug & play. Recordings made with an HDV or DV camcorder can now be checked and played back on the move. Sony presents the first Sony GV-HD700 HD Video Walkman, a portable solution for playback of HDV and DV tapes, which also supports x.v.Color technology for the first time.

The GV-HD700 has numerous professional functions and plays both HDV and MiniDV tapes (SP and LP). The device can record HDV1080i or DV signals from an external source and is ideal for backing up professional recordings. The 7-inch LC display in 16:9 format has a resolution of 1,152,000 (800 x 480 x 3 RGB) pixels. The so-called all-scan function ensures the exact reproduction of recordings by displaying 100 percent of the recorded video frames on the LC display.

Up to six LCD presets can be saved and activated at any time. The display of the GV-HD700E is simply folded away for convenient and safe transportation. The new HD Video Walkman has numerous connections for recording and playing back HDV1080i and DV videos. The HDMI output allows HD videos to be displayed on HD-capable TV sets or monitors and enjoyed in high-resolution quality. Many connection options for Plug & PlayThe GV-HD700 is the first Video Walkman to support x.v.Color technology.

Based on the new industry standard xvYCC, x.v.Colour almost doubles the range of colors that can be reproduced on an xvYCC-compatible display. HDV recordings with x.v.Colour can be transmitted via the HDMI and i.LINK output. x.v.Color signals can also be read in via the i.LINK output and are then forwarded to the HDMI output for output.

In addition to the HDMI output, a separate HD/SD component output is also available. Direct recording and playback of HDV and DV signals is possible via i.LINK. Analog video and audio signals are transmitted via the S-Video and RCA connections. In addition, still images can be saved to the memory stick during playback from tape (HDV or DV).

Simple operation for greater convenienceTo make the GV-HD700 more convenient to use, three of the fourteen most frequently used functions (including search, index marker setting and zoom during playback) can be assigned to individual function buttons. The GV-HD700 can be used with InfoLITHIUM L and M series rechargeable batteries. Included in the package are a power adapter, wireless remote control, component cable and AV multi cable (without S-Video).
