This rare combination, partly a result of the new XA technology, opens up new creative possibilities. Optical aberrations can affect both resolution and bokeh. Three ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass elements significantly contribute to the excellent optical performance of this lens by controlling axial aberrations while optimizing the clarity and natural effect and color of its stunning bokeh. In addition to the usual rotation sensor, a second sensor detects the position of the focusing unit. This 2-sensor system enables the extremely precise focusing necessary to fully utilize the potential of modern high-resolution camera bodies. An SSM drive (Super Sonic wave Motor) provides the required power and speed. Sony's circular aperture design typically uses up to 9 blades. This is the first ó lens with an 11-blade aperture, which ensures wonderfully smooth bokeh with naturally appearing highlights. The modern nano-coating of the lens features a precisely defined nanostructure that effectively suppresses reflections. This reduces light reflections and ghosting effects, resulting in greater sharpness, contrast, and overall better image quality. In addition to the usual sealing against dust and moisture, a seal has been added at the lens-camera interface, allowing you to shoot worry-free even in challenging conditions.
