The development of the FE PZ 28-135 mm F4 G OSS (SELP28135G) utilized the most advanced technologies. The lens is extremely powerful and offers virtually limitless creative possibilities. The E-mount lens is compatible with all system cameras and camcorders with E-mount. When used with full-frame cameras, the lens covers a focal length of 28 to 135 millimeters. When used in front of an APS-C sensor, the focal length shifts to the range of 42 to 202.5 millimeters. Therefore, it is also attractive for users of the α5100, α6000, NEX-FS700, or PXW-FS7.

Whether 28 to 135 millimeters or 42 to 202.5 millimeters: the aperture is constant at F4 throughout the entire focal length range. This allows photographers and filmmakers to effectively isolate subjects and direct the viewer's attention to what matters most. Especially during zooming, aperture and shutter speed can remain stable if desired.

The SEL-P28135G effortlessly overcomes three typical challenges when it comes to videography: changes in the field of view when focusing (pumping) are minimized by a precise internal focusing mechanism. Small shifts in the plane of focus that can occur during zooming are corrected by a special tracking correction in the SEL-P28135G. The lens effectively prevents lateral movements of the optical axis during zooming—at all focal lengths, the length of the lens remains constant. It does not change the perspective when focusing.

Thanks to aspherical lenses, image quality is consistent across all focal lengths. Chromatic aberration is specifically suppressed. The special coating on the glass (Advanced Multi-Coating) enhances contrasts and suppresses unwanted flare effects—even in strong backlighting.
