Pintos have unique, beautiful coat markings that give the horses even more personality. Nevertheless, Pintos are not a breed of their own. They are a color breed that can be found in almost all breeds. A distinction is made between overo and tobiano coat patterns. Overos have a colored coat with white patches. Their head is also often completely white. This is known as a lantern coat. Tobianos, on the other hand, have a white coat with colored patches. Legs and back usually remain white.
