Clydesdales are large cold-blooded horses with strong, long legs and long, thick pasterns. They are intelligent, courageous and exceptionally gentle despite their size. Many Clydesdales can be easily recognized by their white legs. These are also known as boots. The horses often have a brown coat, but there are also blacks, chestnuts and roans. Clydesdales are often used as draught horses. For example, they pull tree trunks through terrain that is too difficult for a tractor to negotiate. They are easy to train and very willing to learn. You can also ride them very well. However, because the horses are so big, special, particularly large saddles are required. Mustangs come in all coat colors, but roan and dun are the most common.
