Qi wireless charging:

Qi is an interface standard for inductive energy transfer (wireless charging) from the "Wireless Power Consortium". Two devices are needed for inductive charging, a receiver (such as a smartphone) and a transmitter (charging station). The power transfer takes place via coils that generate a magnetic field. Through this magnetic field, the smartphone can receive energy and thus charge its built-in battery.
