Shogi – Japanese Chess. The goal of the game is to capture the opponent's king. Unlike chess, the two players do not distinguish their pieces by color, but by the direction of the pointed end. This indicates which player currently owns the pieces. Compared to chess, Shogi has appealing differences and additional rules that make the game interesting. One important difference is the capture and redeployment of pieces. This means that pieces do not decrease during the game, allowing the tide to turn for either player at any time. The second fundamental difference from classic chess is the promotion of pieces, which grants them more movement options. The pieces become stronger and the game more engaging. This game is suitable not only for skilled chess players seeking new challenges but also for beginners.
