The notebook features the cover from 1830 of James Bentham's The History and Antiquities of the Conventual and Cathedral Church of Ely. Ely was founded in 673 AD. The cathedral has been destroyed and rebuilt several times. During the restoration from 1845 to 1870, some areas were remodeled in the Decorated Gothic style.
