ABC on fire extinguishers stands for the suitability of the extinguishing agent (usually a fine powder) for combating fires of classes A, B, and C. It is a versatile device for solid materials, liquids, and gases.

A - Solids: Combustible materials such as wood, paper, textiles.
B - Liquids: Liquid or liquefiable materials such as gasoline, wax, paints.
C - Gases: Flammable gases such as propane, butane, natural gas.

ABC fire extinguishers are frost-resistant and extinguish by smothering the fire, cooling it, and causing a chemical reaction (anticatalytic effect). They are ideal for households, cars, and workshops.
