What does the world of Minecraft actually look like? That's up to you - and that's what's so special about this wonderfully creative game. Every inch of this realm of blocks can be destroyed and rebuilt, just as you like. This is done using materials and tools that you collect and create yourself. You can build a modest farm, a magnificent palace or a unique playground for you and your friends. The tools you need for this are practically at your feet.

As a creator, you'll have all sorts of materials at your disposal. Cut down trees to make wooden objects. Mine stones to build stone structures, or grow plants and raise animals to trade with villagers for other useful items. You'll be able to align rivers and lakes in your world in the way you want to take advantage of them. Also, you can build as high as you want or dig as deep into the ground as you like.

The world around you has a random shape and stretches for miles in every direction, so you can pick the perfect spot for your venture. Whether you feel more at home in snowy highlands, a dense forest, or a sun-drenched desert, you can line up the land however you like and put down roots.
