The Ultraviolet filter absorbs the ultraviolet light rays that often make outdoor photos appear blurry and dull. It is a general-purpose filter in nice weather, for both color and black-and-white film. The UV filter can also serve, placed in front of the lens, as an "everlasting" lens protector.
HMC (HOYA MULTI COATED)
The popular multi-coated filters are known to have extremely weak reflections from their glass surfaces, further suppressing stray light and "ghosting". An average transmission value of over 97% is achieved, resulting in high brilliance and balanced color neutrality. HMC filters from HOYA are recommended to fully exploit the high performance of modern multi-coated lenses.
