The Hörmann HS 5 868-BS is a 5-button high gloss handheld transmitter with BiSecur technology. It is downward compatible, thus also suitable for the operation of older garage door openers with 868 MHz of the Hörmann brand. In addition to the 4 function/opening buttons, the fifth button is used to query the status of the corresponding door operator if a bidirectional receiver with feedback function is present. The Hörmann HS 5 868 is conditionally compatible with HomeLink, after conversion to fixed code 868 MHz.

BiSecur radio system:

BiSecur is an independent name and stands for the new Hörmann radio with 128 bit encryption. The radio code consists of a fixed code part, a rolling code part and a manufacturer key and is frequency modulated.The BiSecur radio system is backwards compatible and can be switched to the 868 MHz fixed code Hörmann radio system. If the BiSecur frequency 868 MHz BS is transmitted, the LED of the BiSecur handheld transmitter lights up blue. If the BiSecur handheld transmitter transmits with the conventional 868 MHz frequency, the LED lights up red.
