Wedge Heavy Duty HD Pro This massive polar wedge fits all CPC telescopes as well as the Evolution 925, which has the large tripod of the CPC telescopes. It turns the popular fork-mounted telescopes into mobile platforms for astrophotography. The CPC telescopes and the NexStar Evolution 925" are generally suitable for astrophotography with longer exposure times. In azimuthal mode, tracking is performed by movement in both axes, which is not a problem for visual observation. However, in astrophotography, a rotation of the image field becomes noticeable after just one minute of exposure time, which initially distorts the stars into lines at the edge of the image field. The polar wedge eliminates this problem. It aligns the azimuth axis of the telescope to the celestial pole, so that tracking can only be carried out with the azimuth motor (there is a setting option for this in the hand controller), so that the image field rotation is eliminated. The wedge can be used worldwide, the tilt angle can initially be roughly adjusted thanks to the scale and can be easily and precisely fine-tuned by hand using the fine adjustment screws with large adjustment knobs. The telescope can be easily mounted on the ways by one person by first attaching a screw to the base and then attaching it to the ways with this screw. The other two screws are then inserted and tightened with an Allen key.
