What is an Easee Key?
The Easee Key is used for authorization when charging at restricted Easee Wallboxes. It is based on RFID technology and has a unique code linked to your Easee profile. This code is referred to as the key number and is located on the back of the Easee Key tag.

Do I need this?
Not necessarily, only if the charging system is set up with appropriate authorization. If this is the case, you can hold the key tag in front of the wallbox to start the charging process.

Can I use other types of RFID keys?

Yes, the charging robot supports a variety of different cards and tags as long as they are based on RFID technology (MIFARE standard). So you can easily use your credit card, your workplace key card, etc. Just add them to your profile via the Easee Charge Portal or the Easee App. If your preferred RFID card does not have a visible key number, you can use the charging robot to read the key number and load it into your profile.
