BRUNOX Epoxy is a patented rust converter and primer in one product and is considered the world's first rust remover with epoxy resin in an aerosol can. The product was developed for industrial applications, craftsmanship, and demanding maintenance work. The combination of rust neutralization and integrated epoxy primer creates an extremely durable protective layer that allows for long-term corrosion protection while also providing an ideal base for subsequent coatings.
- Patented rust converter completely neutralizes rust and forms a metal-organic iron complex with iron
- Black, very compact protective layer ensures long-term corrosion protection and also serves as an epoxy primer
- Application is suitable for iron and steel surfaces indoors and outdoors, except for underwater applications
- Very good creeping and penetrating ability ensures reliable film formation without brush marks or edge bleeding
- Application can be done in brush quality or industrial quality using brush, roller, dipping method, spray gun, or airless
- Aerosol version allows for comfortable application from the aerosol can for repair and maintenance work
- Recommended application temperature is around 20 °C, while processing below 10 °C should be avoided
- Dust dry is achieved after about 1 hour at 20 °C, and complete curing takes about 24 hours
- Recommended dry film thickness is at least 40–50 µm with 2 coats or 3–4 spray layers
- Consumption is approximately 60 g/m² per coat or about 15 m² per liter
- Very good compatibility with most commercially available topcoat systems except for nitro-containing and water-based systems in outdoor areas
- Heat resistance is up to 180 °C for 10 minutes and permanently up to a maximum of 80 °C
- Product is free from heavy metals such as lead, zinc, or chromates and contains no aggressive mineral acids
- Density is approximately 0.99 ± 0.02 g/cm³ for brush quality and about 0.90 g/cm³ for spray version
- pH value is in the range of 4–4.5 according to DIN 53785
- Unlimited shelf life at room temperature in a tightly closed container
