Since the beginning of creation, The Council has kept the balance in the world. The Horsemen, Nephilim (powerful beings born from the union of an angel and a demon), have committed themselves to the Council, have been blessed with extraordinary power and now carry out the will of the Council. But this power comes at a price: the horsemen had to kill all the other Nephilim to gain it. And so the Nephilim fell victim to the will of the Council and the power of the Horsemen in the bloody war on Eden.

War and Strife, the memories of the chaos of war still fresh, have already received a new assignment: Lucifer, the mysterious, deceptive demon king, plans to upset the balance by granting new power to high-ranking demons in Hell. It's up to Krieg and Strife to hunt down these demons, gather intelligence and shatter a complex demonic plot that threatens to forever upset the balance and bring ruin to all of creation.

In the action-adventure game Darksiders: Genesis, players slash and shoot their way to Hell and back through hordes of demons, angels and everything in between. Genesis shows the world of Darksiders before the events of the first installment and introduces a new horseman: Strife
