Giraffes can grow over 5 meters tall, making them the largest living mammal in the world. Giraffes have large, dark eyes, ears and horns and if you look closely, a long black tongue. They have a prehensile tongue, which means they can grab things, like leaves from prickly thorns. They have long, spindly legs, with the front legs longer than the back legs. While this makes them look unsteady, they are actually well balanced and surprisingly fast - reaching speeds of up to 60 mph.
