The Scheppach DS920X wall and ceiling sander is a specialized drywall sander, often referred to as a sanding giraffe or long-neck sander due to its shape. It is designed for sanding ceilings and walls to remove residues of paint, glue, plaster, wallpaper, and filler, to roughen surfaces for repainting, or even to sand a floor.

The weight and handling of the device are crucial when it comes to overhead work like ceiling sanding. The DS920X has been specifically designed for this requirement. Weighing just under 5 kg, the ceiling sander is light enough for prolonged use. Additionally, there are multiple gripping options to prevent fatigue in the arms. The telescopic pole can be precisely adjusted from 145 to 170 cm in length to optimally adapt the ceiling sander to the ceiling height in relation to one's own body size.

The DS920X is equipped with a round, adjustable sanding head that adapts to the surface as needed. The 225 mm sanding head is excellent for sanding larger areas. The sanding paper is secured with Velcro. Six sanding papers with different grits (80G, 100G, 120G, 150G, 180G, 240G) are included in the package.

Depending on the surface and application, the speed or oscillation rate of the sander can be adjusted from 800 to 1800 min-1 – here, the rule is: low oscillation rate for coarse work, high oscillation rate for fine work. The speed is pre-set using a rotary knob, and for continuous operation, the power button can be conveniently locked. For even smoothing of walls and ceilings, a delicate touch is often more important than speed.
