Celestron Off Axis Guider

The off-axis guider is an important accessory for astrophotography at long focal lengths, as it enables the highest tracking accuracy. Celestron's off-axis guider uses a prism to deflect a small portion of light out of the telescope's image plane (and outside the main camera's field of view) so that you can track a guide star. Any movement of this star corresponds exactly to the movements seen by the main camera. This allows an autoguider, for example, to compensate for tracking errors without being disturbed by additional sources of error such as deflection or twisting of the guide scope.
