The proven BRITA filter technology desalinates the water step by step:

1 Pre-filtration

A fleece retains coarse particles. As a result, the downstream filter medium is optimally utilized with the water distribution system.

2 Carbonate hardness reduction

The filter medium reduces the carbonate hardness and thus prevents limescale formation.

3 Permanent hardness reduction (only with PURITY Clean Extra)

In this stage, permanent hardness and non-hardness are removed and the mineral content is optimized.

4 Anion reduction (only with PURITY Clean Extra)

This filter medium reduces the remaining ions.

5 Fine filtration

Finally, a fleece retains any remaining fine particles.
